This course will focus on business models and business strategy. It will provide students with a customer-centric overview and conceptual mapping of the business model. The various aspects of the business model including the offer, customer, infrastructure, and profit formula needed to deliver value will be introduced and connected to design thinking.
The course establishes a context for understanding the key business concepts, tools and terminology that will be discussed:
- learn how business models of companies in diverse operate
- understand the components of a business model through various conceptual frameworks
- apply these frameworks in the analysis of specific company business model cases
- articulate the components and their relationship within a business model and their integration
- apply design thinking methodology to frame a business opportunity
